This job is responsible for supporting the development and execution of strategic initiatives and/or processes aligned to priorities within a functional area and/or business. Key responsibilities include defining, developing, executing, monitoring, and/or refining strategic initiatives and processes in close collaboration with key stakeholders and internal partners.
The Business Management and Controls (BMC) organization within Global Technology (GT) provides horizontal risk and control governance oversight for Bank of America's GT organization, inclusive of Board-level regulatory materials, regulatory exams, risk reviews and remediation, issues management, third party and change management, self-assessments, regulatory reporting, policy management and business operations. The GT Strategy team within BMC is responsible for supporting the Global Technology Senior Leadership Team in advancing the strategy for GT – including a focus on artificial intelligence and emerging technologies and their role in continuing to shape the bank’s future – and enabling strategic discussions and decisions on these with other senior leaders for the bank, including the company’s Management Team and Board of Directors. In addition, the team partners with the Risk & Regulatory Management organization within BMC to deliver GT's risk review materials to multiple regulatory agencies. This role will be responsible for preparing executive-level presentations and materials, conducting analyses, providing recommendations and getting leader buy-in and support on these high visibility strategy-related efforts.
Responsibilities:
Builds and/or executes business initiatives and/or processes, while partnering with stakeholders and partners
Solves complex problems and delivers on business initiatives and processes by applying subject matter expertise and technical knowledge of the business
Engages with key stakeholders, partners, and business leadership to deliver on business objectives
Performs analytics, assessments, and/or interpretation of data and/or information to identify business opportunities, derive insights, and measure outcomes
Develops strategic and tactical plans to drive progress towards business goals and objectives
Consistently delivers accurate Board-level materials inclusive of, but not limited to, financial justifications for impact of strategic projects and programs, plans for new initiatives and supporting rationale, organizational health analyses and associated opportunities, senior executive project updates, support for key business decisions, market research and insights, quarterly business review materials, and other items that will emerge organically as the business changes
Ensures consistency between what has been provided in other presentations and predicts or identifies relevant key trends and insights happening in GT and/or industry
Demonstrates business acumen in technology from a conceptual and business standpoint
Exemplifies professional presence to effectively collaborate with leaders, teammates, and key stakeholders at all levels
Reliably delivers pristine work and recommends solutions to highly ambiguous challenges, often on tight timelines
Quickly pivots and reprioritizes when faced with changing environmental factors or requirements
Effectively navigates a highly matrixed organization, achieving effective socialization and buy-in of material content and ideas
Recognizes the potential impact work outputs have on leadership decisions, making the standard for quality extremely high and the tolerance for errors very low
Expertly synthesizes quantitative and qualitative data from multiple sources into salient, succinctly written, senior executive-level insights
Recommends or raises identified issues or process improvement opportunities
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of applicable, prior management consulting or equivalent work experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong editorial eye for details and audience
Expert level MS PowerPoint, Word, Outlook; Intermediate level MS Excel, SharePoint, Visio
Intellectually curious, going beyond “surface level” root cause/explanations
Prior experience working with executive-level leaders, or similar internal customers/key stakeholders
Applied strategic thinking and methodology
Proven experience in the ability to lead “up” and influence others without formal authority
High aptitude to prioritize and successfully navigate multiple deliverables, including workplan development and tollgates to deliver on-time
Big picture, strategic thinker, adept at identifying horizontal implications, dependencies, and synergies across several organizations
Desired Qualifications:
