Summary: BambooHR is building a people intelligence platform that transforms HR and sets people free to do great work. The Business Intelligence Data Analyst Intern will support the development of analytics-ready datasets and reports, gaining exposure to modern analytics practices while contributing to data-driven decision-making. Responsibilities: - Support the development and maintenance of analytics-ready datasets, reports, and dashboards across one or more business domains - Assist in building and enhancing data visualizations and reports using BI tools to make insights accessible to business partners - Analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities that support operational and strategic decision-making - Partner with BI team members and business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate questions into analytical outputs - Help document business requirements, assumptions, and metric definitions to support consistent and trusted reporting - Contribute to data quality and validation efforts to ensure accuracy and reliability of BI assets - Learn and apply best practices in SQL, data modeling, and analytics workflows - Explore and experiment with AI-enabled features in analytics and BI tools under guidance from the team Required Qualifications: - Completion of junior year of undergraduate study in Business Analytics, Data or Decision Science, Finance, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field, and/or current enrollment in a graduate program - Strong interest in Business Intelligence, analytics, and data-driven decision-making - Foundational knowledge of SQL, including the ability to write basic queries to explore and analyze data - Familiarity with data visualization or BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Sigma, Omni) through coursework, projects, or internships - Basic understanding of data analysis concepts, metrics, and reporting - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail - Ability to clearly communicate findings and ask thoughtful questions - Willingness to learn, receive feedback, and collaborate in a team environment - Proactive mindset with curiosity and enthusiasm for working with data Preferred Qualifications: - Exposure to Power BI - Prior internship, academic project, or hands-on experience working with datasets - Familiarity with SaaS or technology business models Required Skills: SQL, Data visualization Important Skills: Business Intelligence, Data analysis Nice-to-Have Skills: Analytical skills, Curiosity, Problem-solving, Communication, Team collaboration Benefits: Paid time off for summer holidays and birthdays, 401k plans with up to 6% company match, We pay for a one year subscription to Financial Peace University and you walk away with financial savvy and a bonus
