ABOUT AZTEC
Aztec is a workplace technology partner for organizations across the Northeast: one provider for the whole workplace. We deliver and manage the technology and amenities modern offices depend on, from managed print and end-user devices to audio visual, unified communications, and office coffee. Our customers trust us to keep all of it running, and our field technicians are the people who make that promise real.
ABOUT THE ROLE
When a client's copier jams before a board meeting or a new office needs its fleet installed by Monday, you are the person who shows up and gets it done. As a Field Service Technician, you install, maintain, and repair multifunction printers, copiers, and printers at client sites across your territory. You diagnose problems, fix them right the first time, and leave every client confident that their equipment is in good hands.
This is not a job where you sit behind a desk or work through a ticket queue from a distance. You run your own day in the field, you see the results of your work immediately, and you are backed by a team of experienced technicians, a parts and logistics operation, and a service desk that has your back. If you like solving mechanical and technical problems, enjoy working with people, and want a career with real room to grow, we want to talk to you.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Service and Repair
• Respond to service calls at client sites, diagnose hardware, software, and network issues, and resolve them efficiently.
• Perform preventive maintenance on multifunction printers, copiers, and printers to keep fleets running and avoid repeat calls.
• Replace parts and assemblies, and escalate complex issues to senior technicians or manufacturer support when needed.
Installation and Setup
• Deliver, install, and configure new equipment, including network connectivity, scan-to-email, scan-to-folder, and print drivers.
• Train client staff on everyday use so they get the most out of their equipment.
• Remove and swap out older devices during upgrades and replacements.
Client Care
• Be a friendly, professional face of Aztec on every visit.
• Explain what you found and what you fixed in plain language, and set clear expectations when a follow-up visit is needed.
• Flag client needs you notice in the field, such as aging equipment or growing print volume, so our team can help.
Operations and Inventory
• Close out every service call accurately in our service system, including time, parts, and meter readings.
• Manage the parts and supplies you carry, and keep stock levels current so you are ready for the next call.
• Support remote monitoring by checking that devices are connected and reporting correctly.
WHAT WE OFFER
• Competitive pay, with growth as your skills and certifications grow.
• Health, dental, and vision insurance.
• 401(k) retirement plan.
• Paid time off.
• Manufacturer training and certifications, paid for by Aztec.
• Opportunities to cross-train into networking, end-user devices, and audio visual as you advance.
• A stable company that has served Northeast businesses for decades, with a team that knows your name.
REQUIRED
• 1+ year of experience servicing copiers, printers, or similar electromechanical or IT equipment, or a strong mechanical or technical background and the drive to learn.
• Solid troubleshooting skills and the patience to find the root cause of a problem.
• Basic networking knowledge, including IP addressing, DHCP, and connecting devices to a network.
• Clear, professional communication with clients and coworkers.
• The ability to manage your own schedule and work independently in the field.
• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
• A high school diploma or equivalent.
PREFERRED
• Manufacturer certifications on major multifunction printer and copier brands.
• CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification.
• Experience in office technology, managed print, or IT services.
• Familiarity with ECI MobileTech or a similar service management system.
