Job Description
Summary: Azenta Inc. is focused on innovation and collaboration in the field of life sciences. They are seeking a Hardware Engineering Intern to assist in the development of robotic solutions for sample management within their Automation Engineering team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist team with various aspects of product development including:
- Design of automated hardware systems, with a focus on electro- mechanical mechanism design
- Test protocol creation
- Hands-on testing
- Prototype build
- Documentation creation
- Design reviews
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing degree in Mechanical, Robotics, or related discipline
- Familiar with 3D CAD software (Solidworks preferred)
- Basic understanding of low-voltage AC/DC circuits, component selection (e.g. sensors, actuators, data acquisition), and circuit diagrams
- Practical understanding of fluid flow, thermal, and structural design considerations
- Demonstrated capability to perform engineering analysis and familiarity with commonly used analysis tools (e.g., mechanical and thermal FEA & CFD)
- Collaborative team player; able to give and receive feedback
