Axcis Education is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and well-resourced primary SEND school in Sutton. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, speech and language needs, and additional learning needs.
Whether you have experience in care, childcare, youth work, sports coaching, healthcare, support work, or customer service, this role offers the chance to make a genuine difference in the lives of young learners while developing your skills within education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support primary-aged pupils with SEND in the classroom and throughout the school day
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to help children access learning and achieve their individual targets
- Encourage communication, social skills, emotional wellbeing, and independence
- Assist with sensory, creative, and practical learning activities
- Support positive behaviour and pupil engagement
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
What We're Looking For:
- A caring, patient, and positive attitude
- A genuine interest in supporting children with special educational needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to remain calm, adaptable, and resilient
- Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals is desirable but not essential
- No formal Teaching Assistant qualifications required
