Axcis Education is recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream school in Stratford-upon-Avon.
This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within a mainstream educational setting. The successful candidate may work on a 1:1 basis or support small groups of pupils, helping them access learning, develop social skills, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Whether you have experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker, Care Worker, Nursery Practitioner, Youth Worker, or in another relevant role, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis and in small group settings
- Assist children and young people in accessing learning activities across the curriculum
- Encourage communication, social interaction, emotional development, and independence
- Build positive and meaningful relationships with pupils, staff, and families
- Promote engagement, confidence, and participation in school life
- Support pupils with classroom routines, transitions, and behaviour expectations
- Help create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Support with personal care where required
- Follow EHCP targets, behaviour plans, and individual support strategies where applicable
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENDCOs, and wider school staff to meet pupils' individual needs
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND, additional needs, or challenging behaviours
- Experience within education, childcare, care, youth work, support work, or similar settings is desirable
- A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to adapt to the needs of different pupils and age groups
- Comfortable supporting personal care when required
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
- Available to work full-time, Monday to Friday
