Summary: Avid Bioservices is offering a 10-week paid internship in Upstream Process Development, providing hands-on experience in a biopharmaceutical development environment. The intern will assist with PD inventory data creation, laboratory organization, and equipment maintenance while collaborating with the PD team on experiments and process modeling. Responsibilities: - Support PD inventory data creation, tracking, and basic data organization in alignment with laboratory needs - Assist with laboratory and warehouse organization to ensure efficient material flow and compliance with lab standards - Perform routine equipment maintenance and support upkeep of upstream PD laboratory equipment - Develop, execute, and confirm simple kLa models for 2L and intensified bioreactor systems under supervision - Collaborate with PD team members to support ongoing experiments, process modeling efforts, and general laboratory operations Required Qualifications: - Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related discipline - Basic understanding of mammalian cell culture and bioreactor principles (coursework acceptable) - Familiarity with analytical tools for cell culture monitoring - Ability to work comfortably with laboratory equipment and sterile technique - Proficiency in Excel and basic data handling - Ability to work with laboratory instrumentation and follow standard experimental protocols - Proficiency with Excel or similar tools for data organization and basic analysis - Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail - Ability to interpret experimental results and communicate findings clearly - Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines - Clear written and verbal communication skills - Availability to work full-time for the duration of the internship at our Tustin, CA facility - Authorization to work in the country where the internship is located - Passionate about a career in the biotech industry and looking to gain valuable experience through this internship Required Skills: Mammalian cell culture, Bioreactor principles, Analytical tools for cell culture monitoring, Laboratory equipment handling, Sterile technique, Excel, Data organization, Experimental protocol adherence, Analytical skills Benefits: Mentorship: Your manager and team will provide training, mentorship, and development opportunities., Weekly Check-ins and 1:1s: Conduct both on a weekly basis to ensure clear communication and support for our interns., Performance Assessments: Conduct mid and end of program performance assessments to be provided with constructive criticism and feedback to help you grow and succeed., State of the Art Facility: You’ll be working amongst the brightest minds in our world class facilities., Internship Experiences: Intern Open House, Summer Leadership Series, Lunch & Learns, Site Tours, End of Program Presentation.
