Summary: Avid Bioservices is seeking an Intern for Automation & AI Development to support the Process Development team. The role involves building tools to automate the drafting of PD reports and offers hands-on experience with data automation and machine learning concepts. Responsibilities: - Extract, organize, and analyze data from Excel‑based Process Development BDRs and Tech Transfer worksheets - Develop automated workflows or scripts to populate PD report templates using structured batch data - Evaluate and apply coding languages (Python, Java, C++, etc.) or AI/ML tools to support report automation and document generation - Prototype, test, and refine automation approaches to improve accuracy, efficiency, and usability - Collaborate with PD scientists and data owners to understand reporting requirements and ensure output quality - Document workflows, code, and processes to support reproducibility and future enhancements - Assist with additional digital transformation or process automation projects as needed Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a degree in Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or related field - Familiarity with data handling in Excel, including structured datasets and formula logic - Interest or foundational knowledge in AI/ML tools or language‑model‑assisted automation - Ability to learn and apply new digital tools, libraries, or data‑processing frameworks - Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail - Ability to translate requirements into functional scripts, workflows, or automation concepts - Clear written and verbal communication skills - Availability to work full-time for the duration of the internship at our Tustin, CA facility - Authorization to work in the country where the internship is located - Passionate about a career in the biotech industry and looking to gain valuable experience through this internship Required Skills: Python, Java, C++, Excel data handling, AI/ML tools, Automation scripting, Data processing frameworks, Clear written, Analytical Benefits: Mentorship: Your manager and team will provide training, mentorship, and development opportunities., Weekly Check-ins and 1:1s: Conduct both on a weekly basis to ensure clear communication and support for our interns., Performance Assessments: Conduct mid and end of program performance assessments to be provided with constructive criticism and feedback to help you grow and succeed., State of the Art Facility: You’ll be working amongst the brightest minds in our world class facilities., Internship Experiences: Intern Open House, Summer Leadership Series, Lunch & Learns, Intern Night Out, Site Tours, End of Summer Presentation.
