Job Description
Summary: Avery Dennison Corporation is a global materials science and digital identification solutions company. They are seeking an RFID Applications Engineer Co-Op to provide support for product engineers in the development of RFID tags and systems, while gaining hands-on experience in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Working directly with engineers and influencing product development and customer use case decisions
- Obtaining deep knowledge of RFID technology which can be a critical link for enabling the Internet of Things, Blockchain and Omni-Channel fulfillment
- Working as part of a technical team environment, with professionals trained on testing methods, critical thinking, data analysis and reporting in spreadsheets, and generating technical and customer-facing reports
- Providing support for product engineers working on the development of RFID tags, printer systems, and RFID reader systems operating in the HF and UHF bands
- Utilizing automated RFID test systems and RFID printer and reader systems to support testing, data collection, data organization, and reporting
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a focus on Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or other Engineering discipline
- Must be at least junior standing
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
- Sponsorship is not available now or in the future
- Must be willing to join during at least two semesters, including one non-summer term
- Ability to travel 10 - 20 percent of the time
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of CNC Technology
- General familiarity with electronic systems and introductory programming background is preferred (Python, C#)
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel or Google Equivalent
- Previous co-op experience
