Job Description
Summary: AV is a premier autonomous systems company in the U.S. seeking a motivated Engineering student to join their multi-disciplined team supporting research and development activities for the Air Force Research Laboratory. The role involves providing direct engineering support, applying hands-on techniques, and assisting in lab and field test projects.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct engineering support
- Learn and apply hands-on engineering techniques in direct support of research activities
- 3D modeling and design
- Work directly with machinists in the fabrication of custom components and assemblies
- Assist in lab and field test projects
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited program in pursuit of a BS or higher in Engineering
- Competence in 3D cad software
- Basic understanding of engineering fundamentals
- Ability to apply academics to real-world problems
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Self-directed worker willing to adapt to unique challenges and take ownership of projects
- Strong attention to detail with careful and diligent work ethic resulting in high-quality results
- Due to security requirements, U.S. citizenship is required, and the candidate may be asked to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance or higher
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of engineering techniques across multiple disciplines
