HR & Talent Acquisition Partner at Atomus Partners in Rochester, NY

Description

Remote | Rochester, NY Area | Part-Time or Full-Time | $36–44/hour

About Atomus Partners

Atomus Partners is a growing fractional HR, Recruiting, and Finance firm that partners with businesses to provide strategic guidance and hands-on support. We work with companies ranging from startups to established organizations, helping them build strong teams, navigate HR challenges, and scale their businesses.

We're not your traditional consulting firm. We become an extension of our clients' teams, rolling up our sleeves and getting things done. Our team is fully remote, collaborative, and made up of experienced professionals who love what they do.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced HR & Talent Acquisition Partner who can support our clients across both human resources and recruiting functions.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys the variety of HR but also loves finding and hiring great talent. Depending on client needs, you may be supporting day-to-day HR operations, advising business leaders, managing full-cycle recruiting, or a combination of all three.

No two clients (or days!) will look the same. We're looking for someone who can easily shift gears, manage competing priorities, and jump into new environments with confidence.

While this is a fully remote position, we're looking for someone located in the Rochester, NY area who has established professional relationships and connections within the local talent market. These relationships will be valuable in supporting our clients' recruiting needs.

We're open to both part-time and full-time candidates, with hours determined based on experience, availability, and business needs.

What You'll Do

Human Resources

• Serve as a trusted HR partner to assigned clients, providing both strategic guidance and hands-on support.
• Advise business leaders on employee relations, performance management, compliance, and HR best practices.
• Support employee onboarding, offboarding, and other employee lifecycle activities.
• Develop and update employee handbooks, policies, job descriptions, and HR processes.
• Assist with HRIS administration, benefits, compensation, and other HR-related projects.
• Help clients build and improve HR processes as their businesses grow.

Talent Acquisition

• Manage full-cycle recruiting for a variety of positions, from initial intake through offer acceptance.
• Partner with hiring managers to understand their hiring needs, ideal candidate profiles, and recruiting priorities.
• Create job postings and develop recruiting strategies to attract qualified candidates.
• Proactively source, screen, and evaluate candidates across various industries and functions.
• Leverage professional networks, local market knowledge, and creative sourcing strategies to identify talent.
• Coordinate interviews, manage candidate communication, and provide hiring recommendations.
• Maintain applicant tracking systems and candidate pipelines.
• Provide an excellent candidate and client experience throughout the recruiting process.

Client Partnership & Collaboration

• Build strong relationships with clients and become a trusted extension of their teams.
• Manage multiple client engagements while staying organized, responsive, and proactive.
• Identify opportunities to improve client processes and recommend solutions.
• Collaborate with other Atomus HR and Recruiting team members to ensure clients receive the support they need.
• Adapt quickly to different company cultures, leadership styles, and business needs.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of progressive HR experience AND 3+ years of recruiting experience
• Direct experience managing full-cycle recruiting, including proactive candidate sourcing.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR compliance, and employee relations.
• Experience advising managers and business leaders on HR matters.
• Ability to independently manage recruiting requisitions from intake through hire.
• Excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities and shifting between HR and recruiting responsibilities.
• Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new HRIS, ATS, and collaboration platforms.
• Someone who is equally comfortable developing a strategy and executing the day-to-day work.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in a fractional HR, consulting, or outsourced HR environment.
• Experience supporting small to mid-sized businesses, startups, or growing organizations.
• Experience recruiting for professional, corporate, or technical positions.
• Established professional relationships and candidate networks within the Rochester, NY market.
• Experience with platforms such as Rippling, Paylocity, Gusto, or various applicant tracking systems.

What Makes Someone Successful at Atomus?

We're looking for someone who:

• Is a doer. You enjoy rolling up your sleeves and getting things done, not just providing recommendations.
• Thrives on variety. You enjoy working with different clients, industries, and personalities.
• Can pivot quickly. You're comfortable moving between HR and recruiting based on where you're needed most.
• Takes ownership. You don't need someone telling you what to do next. You're proactive, resourceful, and accountable.
• Builds relationships. You know how to earn trust with business owners, leaders, candidates, and employees.
• Is a team player. You enjoy working collaboratively, sharing knowledge, and helping others succeed.
• Has attention to detail. We love people who pay attention to the details. To show us you've read the entire job posting, please include your favorite color in the "Is there anything else you'd like to share?" question when completing your application.

The balance between HR and recruiting responsibilities may fluctuate based on client needs. Some months may be primarily focused on recruiting, while others may involve more HR support. We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys both functions and is comfortable with that flexibility.

Why Join Atomus?

At Atomus, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across multiple organizations without being tied to just one company's HR department.

You'll work alongside an experienced, supportive team, gain exposure to different businesses and challenges, and have the opportunity to use your skills across both HR and talent acquisition.

We value collaboration, accountability, flexibility, and people who take pride in delivering great work for their clients.
