Job Description
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversees the day-to-day floor coverage operations of Banquet department and maintains a high level of service, controls expenses and payroll.
- Provides direction, support and communication to all Function/Event managers to ensure complete guest satisfaction and attention to details. Delegates responsibilities to direct reports and track their progress.
- Meets daily with all staff to ensure compliance to set-up standards, policies, and procedures. Evaluates performance of staff and take corrective measures through training, mentoring, coaching, and disciplining to ensure success of both the staff and the set-ups.
- Executes training programs and continually re-trains and educates all staff in the changes of these standards. Share all feedback, internal and external, and uses this to regularly evaluate all set-ups and breakdown standards, policies and procedures.
- Monitors and resolves guest complaints by following departmental and company standards to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Liaises with internal departments; Conference Services, Culinary, Engineering, Audio Visual, Beverage, Stewarding, Front Desk and others to ensure that the guest expectations are met consistently.
- Discuss established Par Levels for chairs, tables, supplies, linens and equipment. Completes requisitions to replenish shortages or additional items needed for the anticipated business.
- Assists with the development of set-ups for theme parties, coffee break programs, and new concepts that will always have Atlantis at the cutting edge for Conventions and Meetings.
- Executes training programs for all logistics staff and monitor the development.
- Constantly monitors staff performance, in all aspects of set-ups and job function ensuring that service standards are met.
- Meets daily with Director of Logistics Operations to discuss and plan the banquet set-ups and breakdown needs, 14 day review. Apprises Director of all emergencies.
- Responds to all pager and radio communication promptly.
- Regularly inspects function rooms and areas for cleanliness, organization, and deficiencies. All identified deficiencies to be rectified immediately.
- Liaises with all events staff, meeting planners, etc., formally or informally to ascertain level of satisfaction with their programs and events. Ensure that all and any required remedial action is taken immediately to ensure that all guest expectations are met or exceeded.
- Ensures that daily Logistics reports are prepared, presented, and endorse to the next manager on duty.
- Attends pre-convention meeting and develops a relationship with the meeting planners that foster a high level of confidence in the ability of Atlantis to execute all programs to their satisfaction.
- Retrieves and organizes BEOs, making changes as received from BEO meeting. Post function worksheets for the next 7days. Prepares weekly schedule without bias.
- Oversees and inspects the execution of all events, programs, meetings, etc., that fall under Logistics Operations ensuring all BEO requirements are met satisfactorily. Ensuring that the established set times are met consistently.
- Committed to maintaining 90% ESI and Post Convention Surveys scores.
- Performs all other reasonable duties that may be requested by management.
- The Company operates a twenty-four (24) hour business. Therefore, you may be rostered to work shifts, which may change from time to time.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years college degree
Minimum of 1 year hotel or restaurant management experience preferable
Demonstrated knowledge of food and beverage
Strong communication skills
Food Handler’s Certificate, First Aid and CPR
