Job Description
Summary: Atlantic Health is a leading non-profit health care system in the nation, and they are seeking a Pediatric Cardiology Intern to support their division. This role involves a combination of administrative tasks and clinical exposure, allowing the intern to assist with database management and observe pediatric cardiologists in their evaluations and cardiac studies.
Responsibilities:
- Update the division’s MRI/CT and referral databases
- Organize the division’s general SharePoint Drive, which houses important journal articles, protocols, and patient databases
- Work with IT to expand the diagnosis list available in the echocardiogram report to allow for more efficient searching capabilities
- Shadow and work with one of several pediatric cardiologists as they evaluate patients
- Observe the interpretation, performance, or supervision of cardiac studies including:
- ECGs
- Echocardiograms
- Cardiac MRIs/CTs
- Event monitors
- Exercise stress tests
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited public or private college/university
- Pursuing a degree in science, pre-medical studies, or a similarly related field
- Must be in good academic standing
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, asylee, refugee, or lawful permanent resident
- Work 37.5 hours per week and commit to a minimum or 375 hours for the duration of the internship
- Must be committed to completing the duration of the internship from June 2026-August 2026
- Computer proficiency, including comfort with standard operating systems, file management, and software
- Ability to work well in a team while also completing projects with little supervision
- Enjoy interacting with children
