Job Description
Summary: Astro Pak is the nation's leading precision cleaning and passivation contractor specializing in on-site cleaning of high purity gas and fluid systems. The Associate Field Technician role involves extensive travel to customer sites, performing specialized chemical cleaning and passivation on fluid and gas systems that support mission-critical operations.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate specialized equipment for cleaning & passivation of vessels and piping
- Work with hazardous chemicals such as citric acid and caustics in a safe, compliant manner
- Handle chemical processes safely using PPE and according to company protocol
- Load/unload equipment and chemicals for each project
- Drive company vehicles to customer job sites (trucks, vans, forklift, etc.)
- Perform physical work in diverse environments (indoors, outdoors, rooftops, etc.)
- Maintain organized, clean workspaces in alignment with 5S/CEO standards
- Complete OSHA and company safety training, and follow all safety procedures
- Travel extensively—80%+ by land or air (overnight travel required) including holidays, weekends & short notice
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Class “C” driver's license with clean driving record
- Real ID or Passport for air travel required to start
- Two weeks of paid training in California within first 3 weeks of employment
- Medical DOT certificate
- Strong math skills (ratios, percentages)
- Comfortable with mobile tech and basic programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Fluent in English with solid verbal & written skills
- Able to lift 50 lbs. and work in PPE across changing environments
- Willing and able to work night shifts, overtime, weekends & holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Technical experience or schooling (AA degree, trade certification)
- OSHA, HAZWOPER, or confined space certifications
- Experience in hazardous chemical handling or field service
