The Director, US Oncology Internal Communications and Above Brand Campaigns willplayacentral rolein helping employees understand, connectwithand deliver against the US Oncology strategy. As partof the US Oncology Corporate Affairs team,this person will leadinternal communicationsacross theorganizationand supportselectabove-brand campaignsthat strengthen AstraZeneca Oncology’s reputation and impact in the US.
This role is ideal for a thoughtfulcommunicator andstrongproject leader who canturncomplex business,scientificand organizational information intoclear, engaging stories. You will advise leaders, shape communications plans, manage high-visibility internal moments and help bring signature oncology campaigns to life through partnerships, events, social content, earnedmediaand agency collaboration.
What You'll Do
Lead internal communications for US Oncology, helping employees understand business priorities, key milestones, organizationalchangesand the broader oncology strategy.
Develop integrated communications plans that drive employee engagement, support businessobjectivesand align with US Oncology and AstraZeneca priorities.
Counsel senior leaders on messaging, sequencing, tone,styleand channel strategy, particularly during moments of change or high visibility.
Lead and executeorganizational announcements and internal change management counsel
Lead the planning anddeliveryof senior leadership forums and strategic business meetings, partnering closely with the SVP ofUS Oncologyto shape agendas, develop executive communications, align leadership teams, and drive key business priorities.
Plan and deliver internal flagship programs and channels, including webinars, leadership updates, Nucleus articles, Workplace content, short-formvideoand other digital storytelling formats.
Lead the US Oncology internal editorial calendar, ensuring communications aretimely, coordinated, audience-focused and connected to business priorities.
Translate complex scientific, medical,commercialand organizational information into clear and compelling content for internal audiences.
Use employee insights, engagementtrendsand businesscontexttoidentifycommunicationsopportunities,risksand areas for improvement.
Partnercross-functionally withCommercial, Medical, HR, Legal, Compliance and otherteams to ensure aligned planning and execution.
Lead the strategy, development, and execution of above-brand communications and reputation programs, including partnerships, consumer engagement, events, earned media, social and digital content, and other high-impact initiatives.
Lead key partnership initiatives focused on community engagement, building strategic collaborations that strengthen corporate reputation, deepen stakeholder relationships, and advance business priorities.
Manage agency and vendor partners to deliver communications materials, campaign assets, events and program milestones with quality and efficiency.
Measure communications performance and use data,feedbackand insights to strengthen content,channelsand overall impact.
Essential for the role
Bachelor’s degree
7-10years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, public relations, agencycommunicationsora relatedfield.
Ability to develop and implement integrated, multi-channel communications strategies and plans.
Excellent writing,editingand verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for different audiences.
Experience advising senior leaders and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to handle priorities, deadlines, resources,agenciesand multiple workstreams at once.
Strong understanding of digital,socialand employee engagement channels, including how to tailor content by platform and audience.
Experience using data and analytics to evaluate communications, improveengagementanddemonstrateimpact.
Ability to understand scientific and medicalinformation, ordemonstrated ability to learn complex subject matter quickly.
High personal accountability, sound judgment, strong collaborationskills, and attention to detail.
Desirable for the role
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations,marketingora relatedfield.
Experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals,biotechnologyor oncology communications.
Experience working for a communications and public relations agency
Experience supporting commercial, sales,marketingor field communications.
Experience with above-brand campaigns, corporate reputation programs, consumer engagementinitiativesor partnerships.
Experience managing communications agencies,vendorsor external partners.
Knowledge of the US healthcare environment and issues affecting oncology care.
Experience producing short-form video, digitalstorytellingor social content for internal or external audiences.
Experience supporting organizational change communications, employeeengagementor culture-building initiatives.

Office Working Requirements

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $146,716.80 - 220,075.20 USD. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles. Benefits offered include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (i.e., vacation, holiday, and leaves), as well as health, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
