Elevator Operations Manager – Yemen

Reports to: Managing Director / General Manager

Direct Report: Elevator Department Head – Yemen

Travel: Periodic visits to Yemen as required

Role Purpose

The Elevator Operations Manager will be based at the company's Dubai office and will have management oversight of the company's complete elevator operations in Yemen.

The role will directly manage and supervise the Elevator Department Head in Yemen, monitor departmental performance, ensure proper execution of management decisions, identify operational and management weaknesses, and drive continuous improvement.

The Department Head in Yemen will manage the day-to-day activities, while the Elevator Operations Manager will be responsible for overall oversight, performance, accountability, follow-up, and improvement of the Yemen elevator business.

Key Responsibilities

Manage, supervise, and evaluate the Elevator Department Head in Yemen.

Set clear objectives, KPIs, responsibilities, and reporting requirements.

Monitor overall maintenance, service, installation, modernization, and project performance.

Review breakdowns, preventive maintenance, customer complaints, contract renewals, and major technical issues.

Monitor project progress, delays, manpower, materials, testing, commissioning, and handover.

Identify management and operational weaknesses and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Review revenue, costs, margins, profitability, collections, and major expenses.

Monitor manpower utilization, productivity, and overall team performance.

Review major customer issues and ensure proper resolution.

Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality requirements, and elevator safety standards.

Provide senior management with clear weekly and monthly performance reports.

Recommend organizational, staffing, process, and operational improvements where required.

Periodically visit Yemen to review operations directly, inspect projects and maintenance activities, meet the local team and key customers, and verify implementation of agreed actions.

Required Experience & Qualifications

Strong experience in the elevator/lift industry in a senior management or operations position.

Strong knowledge of elevator maintenance, installation, modernization, and technical operations.

Experience managing department heads, engineers, supervisors, and technical teams.

Strong operational, commercial, and financial understanding.

Proven ability to identify management problems, improve performance, and establish accountability.

Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to effectively manage an overseas operation from Dubai.

Willing and able to travel periodically to Yemen.

Fluency in both English and Arabic is required.

Ideal Candidate

A senior elevator professional combining technical knowledge with strong management and commercial capabilities.

The candidate must be able to manage the Yemen Department Head effectively, independently assess operational performance, identify weaknesses, enforce accountability, and drive measurable improvements across the Yemen elevator operation.
