Portfolio Analytics Analyst at Assured Guaranty in New York, NY

Summary: Assured Guaranty is seeking an Analyst-level analytical/actuarial/process employee in a line of insurance business that sits at the intersection of insurance, banking and investments. The individual will be a contributor to a team responsible for performing analysis related to the Company’s loss reserves and valuations for financial guaranty and life reinsurance subsidiaries. Responsibilities: - Validate, maintain and enhance Excel-based valuation models and reconciliation tools - Become familiar with excel macros or other programs that calculate and aggregate data that makes its way into the company’s financial statements. Leverage AI to accelerate knowledge and skill acquisition - Develop a deep understanding of the bond market, financial guaranty and credit analysis. Gain experience and form a skillset that will allow technical expertise to be applied to the company’s initiatives - Perform management control testing to ensure accuracy and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements - Prepare supporting material for reserves (presentations and memos) and loss experience, assist Accounting with booking and documenting reserves and valuations Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree; advanced degree or progress toward CFA and/or Actuary designation a plus - A proven track record of problem-solving and critical thinking - Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects at once - Self-motivation combined with conscientiousness and a hunger to learn and expand responsibilities - Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across teams Required Skills: Excel, Excel macros, Valuation modeling, Financial guaranty, Credit analysis, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, Actuarial reporting, Analytical reporting, Conscientiousness Benefits: Applicable employee benefits, Eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus, Long-term incentive awards
