Hours:
This is a part-time (20 hours/week), position with expected hours to be worked during business hours of Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, the Climbing Wall Attendant will safely and professionally facilitate patron usage of the climbing wall, boulder, wall classes, and route setting.
Essential Job Functions:
Check the wall, boulder, floor, and equipment per the safety checklist prior to each climbing session Remove any equipment deemed unsafe and report it to the supervisor Give age-appropriate safety orientation Instruct all participants in the proper use of climbing harness, helmet, and shoes Enforce Student Recreation Center safety policy at all times Maintain accurate records of participation for each session and activity through Fusion Adhere to all policies and procedures in the climbing wall manual Responsible for preparing accident, missing item, and incident reports as required, and contacting appropriate University personnel in case of emergencies within the necessary time frame Must maintain strict adherence to safety procedures and attend safety meetings as scheduled Monitor climbing wall and related activities Provide customer services and manager members’ risk Inform members of Outdoor Adventure Programs and Services Prep climbing class equipment and class space Check in class participants Maintain a high level of knowledge in proper belay standards Able to communicate and teach buddy check, belay commands, knot craft, belay techniques, belay motions, and do’s and don’ts Conduct a high-level belay test ensuring thorough knowledge of belay process Record and log test results into Fusion Software Program Assist the Coordinator with performing and logging monthly and quarterly safety inspections Properly clean and store setting equipment and climbing holds Perform other duties as assigned

Establishes and maintains working relationships with various A.S. and University departments
Safety:
Ensures all operations are conducted with safety of staff and customers as first priority, and in accordance with the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and other safety policies. Reports accidents to supervisor and reviews changes required to avoid reoccurrence. Reports maintenance problems and/or broken and unsafe equipment to the appropriate party or supervisor immediately
Requirements:
Must be a currently enrolled California State University Fullerton student in good academic standing

Bloodborne Pathogens Campus Health and Safety Requirements CSU’S Discrimination Harassment Prevention Program Data Security and FERPA Gender Equity and Title IX Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
within 30 days of hire
Work Environment:
Work is typically performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment. Tasks require a variety of physical activities, generally involving muscular strain related to walking, stooping, sitting, reaching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs Many functions of the work pose high degree of hazard uncertainty.
