Job Description
Summary: ASML US is a leader in developing lithography machines essential for producing advanced microchips. The internship aims to provide students with hands-on experience in semiconductor manufacturing, focusing on customer service skills and data analysis to support engineering projects.
Responsibilities:
- Understand the basics of semiconductor manufacturing, especially the Lithography manufacturing process and the importance of ASML’s role
- Learn about ASML’s products and Applications Engineering team's approach to enable next node developments with our customers
- Obtain customer service skills in a tech industry environment
- Interns will typically be required to document and present their findings as well as making an end of summer presentation to the group about what they achieved during their internship
- Identifying and documenting goals and targets (KPIs)
- Evaluating current processes and updating documentation to adhere to continuous improvement methodologies (LEAN/6 Sigma)
- Creating data visualizations to identify potential opportunities for automation (Tableau/Power BI/Python)
- Collaborating with Engineers from other areas and shifts to identify Best Known Methods (BKMs)
- Participating in projects to improve performance of the FAB
Required Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in a Masters or PhD program at the time of the internship
- Minimum 6 months experience with MATLAB, Python, or equivalent data analysis software
- You are able to clearly communicate status and progress of a project to the engineering and management team
- You thrive in frequent collaboration with our teams and customers
- Can learn and apply new information or skills
- Must be able to read and interpret data, information, and documents
- Ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
- Proven ability to perform effectively in a demanding environment with changing workloads and deadlines
- Result driven-demonstrate ownership and accountability
- Identifies bottlenecks and drives improvements
- Work independently or as part of a team and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision

- You must be work authorized in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship
- This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred Majors: Physics, Optics, Electronics, Micro-electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or IC manufacturing
