Job Description
Summary: Arlo Technologies, Inc. is dedicated to creating innovative solutions for security and protection. They are seeking a motivated RF/Wireless Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience in testing and validating wireless systems for consumer IoT products, working alongside experienced engineers in a fast-paced R&D environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with radiated and conducted RF testing of wireless products in lab and real-world environments
- Support wireless performance characterization, including throughput, range, sensitivity, power consumption, and coexistence testing
- Collect, analyze, and document test results to support product development and validation activities
- Operate and learn industry-standard RF and wireless test tools such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, current analyzers, Wireshark, and iPerf
- Help create and maintain test plans, test reports, and documentation using tools such as MS Office, Jira, and Confluence
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of wireless test setups, fixtures, and automation scripts under guidance from senior engineers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, firmware, and systems engineering
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Fundamental understanding of RF and wireless communication principles (e.g., modulation, bandwidth, link budget, noise)
- Basic familiarity with wireless networking concepts and protocols
- Exposure to TCP/IP networking and packet analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark)
- Strong attention to detail, curiosity, and a willingness to learn new tools and technologies
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to one or more wireless technologies: WLAN (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax), Bluetooth (Classic/LE), Sub-GHz, Thread, Z-Wave, Cellular (3G/4G/5G), DECT
- Hands-on experience with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, or power meters
- Basic scripting or programming experience (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW) for test automation or data analysis
- Experience with hardware prototyping, basic soldering, or electronics assembly
