Summary: Arlo Technologies is dedicated to creating innovative security solutions and is seeking an Android Engineering Intern to enhance user experiences in their Android app. The role involves developing features, collaborating with teams, and contributing to AI-assisted workflows. Responsibilities: - Develop and ship features in an Android app - Collaborate with product and design to build polished user experiences - Improve app performance, reliability, and maintainability - Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews - Debug issues and help improve the overall mobile development workflow - Support Growth initiatives, improving onboarding, retention, and user engagement - Contribute to AI-assisted workflows and internal tooling that help teams ship faster with higher quality Required Qualifications: - Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related program - Experience with Kotlin and/or Java - Understanding of Android fundamentals (Android SDK, activities/fragments, networking, app lifecycle) - Strong debugging and problem-solving skills - Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with Jetpack Compose - Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, authentication flows - Experience with unit testing / UI testing on Android - Prior mobile projects, internships, or apps published on Google Play - Interest in developer productivity tooling, automation, or AI/agent-based workflows Required Skills: Kotlin, Java, Android fundamentals Important Skills: Jetpack Compose, REST APIs Nice-to-Have Skills: debugging skills
