Position Summary
The Welder C performs advanced welding, fitting, fabrication, inspection, and repair work supporting ARTCo's mid-stream stevedoring operation in Waggaman, LA. This position maintains and repairs crane/rig equipment, mobile equipment, crane buckets, and related assets while supporting safe and reliable operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Welder C completes welding, fabrication, equipment inspection, repair, and required safety documentation with the ability to perform assigned repairs independently.

Perform welding and fabrication work on rig, crane, mobile equipment, and associated components.
Support equipment readiness and safe work execution through inspections, required safety processes, and accurate documentation.
Successful candidates will demonstrate strong welding and fabrication skills, sound safety practices, and the ability to independently complete repairs in an industrial and marine environment.
Work is performed in an active industrial and marine environment around crane/rig and mobile equipment.
Success requires safe, accurate welding/fabrication, reliable repairs, complete documentation, and clean work areas.

Welding, Fabrication & Repairs
Perform welding and fabrication work on rig, crane, mobile equipment, and associated components.
- Perform vertical, horizontal, and overhead welding on various materials.
- Fabricate and fit metal for deck bumpers, handrails, mobile equipment, cages, crane buckets, and other projects or repairs.
- Perform gauging, pin removal/installation, brazing, soldering, lancing, piercing, and basic fitting and welding.
- Read blueprints and complete repairs accurately without assistance or daily supervision when assigned.
- Assist with crane and mobile equipment repairs and rig equipment for lifting by crane.
Support equipment readiness and safe work execution through inspections, required safety processes, and accurate documentation.
- Inspect rig/crane equipment for welding repairs, including mobile equipment, crane barge, and crane bucket, and complete inspection forms.
- Perform LOTO procedures, execute JSAs, and use air-monitoring meters to analyze required holds and work areas before work begins.
- Complete JSAs, LOTO records, inspection forms, daily logs, requisition forms, and other required documentation.
- Operate mobile equipment and man-lifts within certification and maintain clean, work-ready areas throughout the shift.
Successful candidates will demonstrate strong welding and fabrication skills, sound safety practices, and the ability to independently complete repairs in an industrial and marine environment.
- Proficiency in vertical, horizontal, and overhead welding; gauging; pin installation; fitting; and welding.
- Proficiency fabricating/fitting metal, reading blueprints, and performing brazing, soldering, lancing, piercing, and rigging activities.
- Computer proficiency sufficient to complete JSAs, LOTO records, inspection forms, daily logs, and requisition forms.
Work is performed in an active industrial and marine environment around crane/rig and mobile equipment.
- Safely perform assigned welding, fabrication, inspection, and repair work while following required JSA, LOTO, air-monitoring, housekeeping, and equipment-operating procedures.
Success requires safe, accurate welding/fabrication, reliable repairs, complete documentation, and clean work areas.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in vertical/horizontal welding, gauging, pin installation, fitting, and welding.
- Demonstrated proficiency fabricating and fitting metal to execute projects and repairs.
- Trained in air-monitoring meters and required computer-based safety/work documentation.
- Certified to operate mobile equipment and man-lifts; must pass the required welding test to become a Certified Welder.
- Must successfully complete the applicable pre-employment background check.
