REPORTS TO

Director of Tulane Catholic

Position Overview

Tulane Catholic is in a season of renewal. We are intentionally and energetically working to build a vibrant Catholic community for a new generation of Tulane students.

The Campus Minister's work is both relational and organizational. On the relational side, the job is presence and outreach: being at Mass, meals, and events, getting to know students, and following up with those who are new or drifting.

Just as important, the Campus Minister is a facilitator. Because the Director and several members of the leadership team serve Tulane Catholic part-time, the Campus Minister is the steady, full-time presence who holds the day-to-day ministry together. Working closely with the Director, the Ministry Operations Manager, our FOCUS missionaries, and student leaders, the Campus Minister keeps people and plans connected so that retreats, formation, events, and student leadership work together as one ministry. This means coordinating rather than owning every initiative: making sure the right people are talking, the calendar holds together, and nothing falls through the cracks.

We are looking for someone who enjoys college students, works well on a team, has the follow-through to manage details, and wants to invest in students and their leadership over the long term.

• Help tell the story of Tulane Catholic to students, alumni, and supporters

Qualifications

• Practicing Catholic who loves the Church and believes deeply in the mission of Catholic campus ministry

You'd Be a Great Fit If You...

• Are excited about building a ministry and investing in the next generation
• Enjoy college students and are at ease spending time with them

• Have Enablement and Galvanizing among your Working Genius strengths (from Patrick Lencioni's model): you get energy from supporting others and from rallying people around a shared goal
• Bring enough Tenacity, the Working Genius of seeing work through to completion, to follow through on the details even when it isn't glamorous
• Complement a more directive, vision-driven leader by running with the vision and making it relational
• Are eager to learn, willing to stretch, and joyful in your vocation

Definition of Success

In this role, you are succeeding when:

• Students who walk in for the first time come back because someone made them feel like they belonged
• The FOCUS team and the broader ministry calendar are well-coordinated and working in the same direction
• The Director and the Ministry Leadership Team are kept well informed about students, events, and needs
• Students, led by a Student Leadership Team growing in confidence and faith, are taking ownership of the community: inviting friends, leading events and small groups, and carrying initiatives forward without staff having to drive them
