Job Description
Summary: Arcadis is the world's leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets. They are seeking an Environmental Professional to join their Resilience Field Portfolio Solutions Team in Tampa, Florida, primarily focusing on environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks while spending a significant amount of time in the field.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting Project Managers (PMs) and Task Managers (TMs) in planning and executing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks
- Conduct field work including soil, groundwater, and/or vapor sampling in the field in accordance with Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda
- Office work may include task coordination, data compilation and interpretation, cost estimates, health & safety plan preparation, report writing, regulatory file reviews, proposal writing, project strategy development, schedule and budget management, and establishment of subcontracts
- Fieldwork will also be a key aspect of this position, which will offer you an opportunity to be trained to oversee drilling for soil sampling and groundwater well installation, groundwater sampling, subcontractor oversight, construction and operation and maintenance of remediation systems, vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys, among other tasks
Required Qualifications:
- BA or BS in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology or related field
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated and exhibit independent thinking
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team setting as well as independently and remotely
- Ability to be adaptable and creative problem solvers
- Good driving record
- Willing to work outside in all weather conditions and for extended periods
- Ability to meet the physical demands associated with performing field work, including lifting heavy equipment and working in a standing position for extended periods of time
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with FDEP environmental regulations and SOPs
- Current OSHA HAZWOPER 40 HR / 8 HR training
- Previous industry, consulting, or regulatory internship experience
- 1 year experience in the field is preferred but not required
