Principal API IntegrationJob Description
Become part of the team powering household names like Kleenex®, Cottonelle®, Scott®, and WypAll®. At Arbex, everything you need is right here—innovation, growth, and the chance to leave a real mark.
You were made to create what’s next: designing new technologies, diving into data, optimising digital experiences, and constantly developing better, faster ways to get results. You want to be part of a performance culture dedicated to building technology for a purpose that matters. Here, you’ll work in an environment that promotes sustainability, inclusion, well-being, and career development while you help us shape the future of tissue and hygiene for billions of people around the world. We’ll be Unstoppable Together.
About You
In one of our professional roles, you’ll focus on winning with consumers and the market, while putting safety, mutual respect, and human dignity at the centre.
We are looking for a Principal API Integration to provide deep technical and architectural expertise across Arbex's API and enterprise integration landscape, with particular focus on Unify. The initial focus of the role will be supporting the migration and transformation of integrations inherited from the Kimberly-Clark spin-off into Arbex's CPI/Unify integration ecosystem, ensuring business continuity while progressively establishing a simpler, sustainable and well-governed integration landscape. As the new environment matures, this role will become a key contributor to Arbex's integration architecture strategy and governance, with particular focus on API architecture, reusable integration patterns and the evolution of the Unify ecosystem.
Job responsibilities include:
Transition & Migration
- Provide architectural guidance for the migration of inherited integrations into the Arbex Unify/CPI landscape.
- Support migration and upgrade project teams in assessing existing API integrations and determining appropriate target integration patterns based on business criticality, complexity and long-term maintainability.
- Work closely with application, platform, security and business teams to ensure safe migration and continuity of critical business processes.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, consolidate or retire inherited integrations instead of recreating legacy solutions, supporting future stages of the integration modernization strategy.
- Assess opportunities to replace point-to-point integrations with reusable APIs, integration services or event-based patterns where appropriate.
- Support complex technical decisions, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Architecture & Engineering
- Collaborate in the definition and evolution of API and enterprise integration architecture and patterns across Arbex.
- Provide deep technical and architectural expertise in Unify and API-based integration, supporting the evolution of Arbex's target integration ecosystem.
- Define and promote reusable patterns for REST APIs, synchronous and asynchronous integration, messaging and event-driven architectures.
- Apply strong API design practices covering API contracts, lifecycle management, versioning, security, discoverability and reuse.
- Provide expertise around OpenAPI, OAuth 2.0/OIDC, authentication and authorization patterns, and enterprise API security.
- Promote loosely coupled, reusable and supportable integration solutions, reducing unnecessary point-to-point dependencies.
- Contribute to standards for observability, monitoring, resilience, error handling and operational support.
- Evaluate proposed designs with a pragmatic balance between reuse, simplicity, maintainability, delivery speed and business value.
- Act as the senior technical escalation point for critical API integration incidents, collaborating with external support partners when deep technical or architectural expertise is required.
- Review root causes, corrective actions and lessons learned to prevent recurrence and improve integration reliability.
Strategy & Governance
- Contribute to the definition and continuous evolution of the Arbex Integration Strategy, including architecture principles, standards, reusable patterns and decision frameworks.
- Act as a senior member of a future Integration Architecture Board, reviewing and approving integration requirements and solution designs.
- Ensure architecture governance is proportional to complexity and risk, avoiding unnecessary controls or approval layers.
- Mentor functional analysts and engineers and help raise integration architecture capabilities across the organization.
- Bring external experience and challenge existing approaches when simpler or more effective alternatives exist.
- Help translate lessons learned during the migration into sustainable architecture patterns and engineering practices for Arbex.
To succeed in this role, you will need the following experience and qualifications:
- 15+ years of relevant enterprise technology experience, with significant depth in API.
- Deep knowledge of API integration patterns and technologies.
- Demonstrated experience with complex integration migration or transformation programs.
- Experience establishing or applying integration architecture standards and governance in large enterprise environments.
- Strong technical authority and ability to influence functional and engineering teams, architects, vendors and senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to balance architecture quality, simplicity, delivery speed and business risk.
- Experience working with globally distributed technology teams and system integrators.
