Finance Intern at Aqua in PA NORTH SHORE - 375

Summary: Aqua, a subsidiary of Essential Utilities, is seeking a Finance Intern to support accounting, rates, and finance activities. The intern will assist with maintaining accounting records, participate in closing functions, and support various projects under supervision. Responsibilities: - Support the maintenance of the Company’s Accounting records in compliance with GAAP and Regulatory Accounting standards which could include anything from bank account reconciliations and preparation of journal entries to redesign of complicated excel models - Assists with other tasks or projects as assigned which can range from routine projects to the solving of more complex problems or support in preparing presentations for executives - Should expect a tailored approach based on current needs of the business - Participate in closing functions with parent company under supervision of lead accountant Required Qualifications: - Student pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting, finance or related field - Must be currently enrolled in college and must have completed (at least) their sophomore year with a specific or relevant major and a GPA greater than 3.0 - Intellectually curious and adaptable - Demonstrated strength in attention-to-detail - Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint,), problem assessment and problem-solving skills - Ability to evaluate large data sets and manage data to support accounting systems, budgeting and cost control principles - Strong communication (oral and written) skills - Ability to produce and manage several projects in a quality and timely manner - Demonstrated experience and skill in attention-to-detail - Knowledge of federal, state, and local relevant regulations Required Skills: Accounting, Finance, Excel Important Skills: PowerPoint, Data analysis Benefits: Competitive and comprehensive benefits package, Commitment to career growth opportunities
