Summary: April Housing is a leading owner and operator of high-quality affordable housing across the United States. The Investments Intern will support analyses driving investment decisions, assist in underwriting efforts, and prepare reports to gain project approvals, all while collaborating with the Investments team and Blackstone. Responsibilities: - Supporting analyses that drive investment decisions on acquisitions, dispositions, and preservation efforts - Supporting initial underwriting efforts of properties in conjunction with capital transactions - Preparing investment reports and memorandums to gain approval for projects in the investment pipeline - Assisting with internal status updates and other reporting to key stakeholders at April and Blackstone - Tracking deal progress during the marketing, due diligence, and closing phases of a transaction - Researching specific investment terms and data points to streamline the transaction process - Researching and summarizing the latest investment trends in the affordable housing market Required Qualifications: - Interest in exploring or continuing a career in affordable housing - Pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, real estate, economics, or business with a finance/accounting concentration - Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail - Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills - A naturally collaborative nature with good communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications: - Advanced knowledge of MS Excel Required Skills: Finance, Real Estate, Analytical Skills Important Skills: Microsoft Excel Nice-to-Have Skills: Communication Skills, Organizational Skills, Problem-Solving Skills, Interpersonal Skills Benefits: Health insurance coverage, Retirement savings plan, Paid holidays, Paid time off (PTO)
