Job Description
Summary: Applied Materials is a global leader in materials engineering solutions used to produce virtually every new chip and advanced display in the world. The Materials Simulation Engineering Intern will help explore emerging modeling techniques, support research activities, and contribute to studies focused on evaluating methods and validating properties relevant to internal projects, with the goal of advancing state‑of‑the‑art semiconductor applications.
Responsibilities:

- Contribute to studies focused on evaluating methods and validating properties relevant to internal projects
Required Qualifications:
- strong interest in computational modeling in materials science, chemistry, or related fields
- hands-on experience working with either localized molecular models or periodic boundary condition (PBC) approaches
Preferred Qualifications:
- Modern AI or machine learning methods applied to the physical sciences
- Computational modeling techniques such as molecular simulations or structure–property prediction
- Approaches for generating, analyzing, or representing molecular or materials data
- Simulation workflows involving atomic‑scale or mesoscale modeling
- Development or application of models to predict material or chemical properties
