Summary: Applied Materials is a global leader in materials engineering solutions used to produce new chips and advanced displays. They are seeking a Summer Intern to join their Common Systems Software Department to develop software for control systems, optimize material deposition, and automate processes. Responsibilities: - Collect high frequency data generated by test stand devices (such as Themocouples, Presssure Transducer, FTIR, MFC, etc) and by wafer process equipment (Etch tools) - Align timelines across these devices and cleanup up the data - Derive insights and summary from this data by doing anlysis using JMP and AI tools - Quantify error sources - Create auto-check algorithms to ensure equipment is functioning normally and remove sprious/outlier data - Automate the whole process and document the software - Designs and develops code for control system software projects - Designs and creates prototype software to interface with new devices, actuators and sensors - Creates and executes test plans on simulators, test benches or the lab - Develops software documentation Interacts and works closely with the team Required Qualifications: - Student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field - Student must be in good academic standing at their university, with a GPA of 3.8 or above on a 4.0 scale - Is result oriented and has passion to contribute ideas, to influence others and to succeed - Proficiency and experience in C, C++, C#, .NET and data analysis tools is required Required Skills: C, C++, C#, .NET, Data analysis tools, Result orientation, Passion to contribute ideas, Influence others, Succeed Internship Start Date: Start in 2026 Summer Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package, Participation in a bonus and a stock award program
