Accountant at Applied Industrial Technologies in Querétaro, MX

Role Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant with expertise in accounting. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and supporting month-end and year-end close processes.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to day accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals and reconciliations.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end and year-end closings.
• Responsible for US GAAP accounting, reporting and analyses of data and other ad hoc requests for information
• Performing general ledger account analysis and Balance Sheet account reconciliations
• Prepare SOX controls
• Create and maintain process documentation
• Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and explanations.
• Collaborate with other finance functions to streamline accounting processes

Requirements:

• Intermediate verbal and written communication skills in English
• BS or BA Degree in Finance and Accounting and/or 3-5 years relevant experience
• Experience with General Ledger activities: prepare journal entries, accruals for month-end, year-end close, prepare reconciliations, resolve open items
• ERP knowledge with any of these tools: SAP, Oracle, Great Plains, Blackline
• Analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred:

• Basic understanding of US GAAP or IFRS
• SOX control related knowledge
