Position Summary
Anning-Johnson is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to take a leadership role in managing complex commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion. This is an opportunity for a proven construction professional who enjoys leading teams, building strong customer relationships, and taking ownership of project performance.
The Senior Project Manager is a key member of our project management team and is responsible for the overall planning, budgeting, scheduling, financial performance, and successful execution of multiple projects. This position works closely with customers, field leadership, project teams, subcontractors, and vendors to keep projects moving forward and ensure they are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Depending on the size and complexity of the project, the Senior Project Manager may also serve as the on-site project leader.
What You’ll Do
- Lead multiple commercial construction projects from planning through completion.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and other project partners.
- Provide leadership and direction to project teams and communicate regularly with executive leadership regarding project performance.
- Work closely with superintendents and foremen to plan, organize, and direct construction activities.
- Take ownership of project schedules, budgets, cost control, forecasting, billing, contracts, and change order management.
- Monitor project performance and proactively identify and address schedule, cost, manpower, and operational issues.
- Ensure projects are managed to maximize customer satisfaction and build long-standing relationships.
- Represent Anning-Johnson in project meetings and participate in project planning and strategy.
- Procure materials and subcontracts necessary for successful project completion.
- Maintain accurate and timely project reporting, including work progress, costs, forecasting, and scheduling.
- Ensure project teams have the resources, information, and support necessary for efficient and successful project execution.
- Work with field leadership to ensure the project safety plan is in place before work begins.
- Serve as a key member of the project safety team throughout construction.
- Promote a positive and collaborative work environment focused on communication, accountability, safety, and results.

Success in this role means delivering projects safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget while maintaining strong customer relationships. The Senior Project Manager is expected to take ownership of project performance, anticipate challenges before they become problems, support the project team, and help position Anning-Johnson for repeat business and long-term success.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, a related field, or equivalent construction experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of construction management experience or comparable experience in a related field.
- Demonstrated experience successfully managing large and/or complex commercial construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of project financials, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, billing, and change order management.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, solve problems, and proactively drive projects forward.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with estimating and project management software.
- Experience with OST/QuickBid.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and PlanGrid.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and follow-up skills.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to successfully manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Ability to build effective working relationships at all levels, including customers, general contractors, field teams, coworkers, vendors, and subcontractors.

Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $130,000–$185,000 annually.
Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, demonstrated capabilities, and other job-related factors.
