Senior Software Engineer at Amplify-now in Hybrid - Thane

Role & responsibilities

• Own low-level design, implementation, and unit testing of new features within Amplify
• Build across the stack frontend functionality in React/JavaScript in line with UX designs, and backend services and models in Ruby on Rails
• Ensure solutions meet the performance, scalability, and reliability requirements of a SaaS product
• Maintain and enhance the existing Amplify application, including timely resolution of customer-reported issues
• Safeguard long-term code quality through unit tests and peer code reviews, identifying defects and promoting clean, maintainable code
• Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into customer solutions, contributing to estimation, planning, and delivery within an Agile team
• Use AI-assisted development tools (Claude / Claude Code preferred) to accelerate design, coding, testing, and code review while maintaining engineering quality standards
• Document significant designs and changes, and follow information security protocols to protect confidential data

Preferred candidate profile

Essential

• 8+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails
• Solid experience with JavaScript, including React
• Good working knowledge of SQL databases
• Experience building and maintaining SaaS or large-scale web applications
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, testing, and operational considerations

Desirable

• Practical experience using AI coding assistants Claude / Claude Code preferred to accelerate design, development, and code review
• Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms
• Exposure to performance optimisation, monitoring, or production support
• Experience working with distributed or global teams
