Job Description
Summary: Amgen is a leading biotechnology company dedicated to serving patients with serious illnesses. They are seeking an Undergrad Intern in Operations for their Manufacturing facility in Thousand Oaks, where the intern will work on developing digital reporting mechanisms and improving business processes to enhance plant performance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop new and improve existing digital reporting mechanism for B20 plant performance
- Produce time efficiencies / reduce waste by developing better ways of communicating or processing information across teams and workstreams
- Network extensively with all relevant stakeholders to understand how MCS is structured and to feed insights back to B20 about the efficiency of the existing business processes
Required Qualifications:
- 18 years or older
- Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor's Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
- Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing
- Enrolled in a full-time Bachelor's degree program following the potential internship assignment with an accredited college or university
- Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
- Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field (e.g. engineering, computer science, and other related fields)
- Being comfortable under tight deadlines and shifting targets
- Time management
- Networking and communication
- Smartsheet (recommended; could be acquired on the job)
- Tableau, Databricks, Power Apps, Power Automate etc. (recommended but not required)
