Job Description
Summary: American Regent, Inc. is a company focused on developing pharmaceutical drug products for humans and animals. The R&D Summer Intern will assist Formulation R&D scientists in laboratory studies, including formulation preparation, testing, and data documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine laboratory experiments to study parenteral formulation, material compatibility and manufacturing process
- Record and report all lab data as per approved procedures and regulatory requirements
- Maintain clean and safe work environment in the laboratory
- Ensure all work is performed and documented in accordance with existing company policies, procedures, current Good Manufacturing Practices, and health & safety requirements
- Perform any other tasks/duties as assigned by management
Required Qualifications:
- A Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent required
- Completed at least two semester course work with laboratory in General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry
- Attention to detail and able to follow instructions and operating procedures
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel is highly desirable
- Physically able to wear laboratory protective gowning and equipment, including but not limited to gowning, goggles, face shields, respirators, and protective gloves
- Specific vision requirements include 20/20 near vision (can be corrected with eyeglasses or contacts) and color vision
- Position requires working in the laboratory as well as sitting
- Employees must maintain a clean-shaven appearance each working shift to wear tight-fitting respirators properly
