Job Description
Summary: The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) seeks an in-person intern to provide research and administrative support to the Economic Policy Studies department. The economic policy intern will assist with quantitative analysis, background research, fact-checking, and editing for articles related to applied economics and public finance, as well as support live AEI events on public policy issues.
Responsibilities:
- Provide research and administrative support to the Economic Policy Studies department
- Conduct quantitative analysis, background research, fact-checking, and editing for articles and ongoing academic research projects on issues related to applied economics and public finance
- Assist with live, in-person AEI events on timely public policy issues
Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate with a demonstrated interest in economics and public policy
- Microsoft Excel experience
- Knowledge of intermediate econometrics, statistics, and official databases, such as those of the Bureau of Economic Analysis, Bureau of Labor Statistics, and Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis
- Ability to participate in the program on an in-person basis for 25-40 hours per week
- GPA of 3.5 or higher from a top-ranking college or university
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Stata, R, and Python
