Job Description
Summary: The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) is a leading think tank that connects scholarly research with various audiences. They are seeking a Fall Intern for their Coalitions team to facilitate events, write communications, and develop partnerships while gaining valuable experience in nonprofit management and public relations.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitating conferences and events for AEI’s contacts in DC and across the country
- Writing weekly communications for core AEI constituencies
- Identifying opportunities to develop new partnerships with organizations around the United States
- Organizing constituent data
- Assisting with other short- and long-term projects
- Assisting with planning and executing a regional summit
- Maintaining contact records
- Researching new scholar initiatives
- Collaborating with team members to brainstorm future partnerships with scholars across the institute
Required Qualifications:
- Must have a startup mentality and an ability to identify new ways to add value across the organization
- Interested in and familiar with AEI scholars' work
- Exhibit strong writing and organizational skills
- Curious about nonprofit management and public relations
- Available to complete the internship in person for 25-40 hours per week
- Competitive candidates will generally have a GPA of 3.5 or higher from a top-ranking college or university
