JOB SCOPE
The People Administrator provides administrative and operational support to the People (Human Resources) function to ensure the efficient delivery of HR services across the organisation. The role is responsible for coordinating HR processes across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment administration, onboarding, employee records management, payroll support and HR systems administration. The role plays a critical part in ensuring that HR operations run efficiently, enabling HR Business Partners to focus on strategic and employee engagement initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- People Administration: Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation; manage HR filing systems in line with data protection requirements; prepare employment contracts, offer letters and HR correspondence; maintain the HR information system.
- Recruitment Support: Coordinate job advertisements, interview scheduling and candidate communication; prepare recruitment documentation; assist with induction and new employee documentation.
- Employee Life Cycle: Support onboarding and offboarding; process employee changes such as promotions and transfers; keep employee records accurate in the systems.
- Payroll and Benefits Administration: Support payroll processing and payroll input preparation; maintain leave records and employee benefit information; assist with employee queries.
- HR Reporting and Data Management: Generate HR reports and workforce data; support HR audits and compliance requirements; maintain accurate HR metrics and reporting records.
- Policy and Compliance Support: Ensure HR documentation aligns with organisational policies and labour legislation; assist with maintaining HR policies and procedures; support compliance with governance standards.
- General People Support: Provide administrative support to HR Business Partners and the People Director; assist with HR projects; respond to employee HR queries and direct them appropriately.
CORE COMPETENCIES, ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS and PREFERENCES
Educational:
✓ Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management or related field (Required)
✓ Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PPT)
Knowledge:
✓ Understanding of HR processes and the employee lifecycle
✓ Knowledge of labour legislation and HR best practices
Experience and Skills:
✓ 2–3 years’ experience in an HR administrative role (Required)
✓ Experience with HR information systems (HRIS)
✓ Experience working with HR systems and payroll administration is an advantage
✓ Experience in working in the non-profit sector is an advantage
✓ Writing proficiency
✓ Language skills (English critical, other South African languages advantage)

Pay: R4 600,00 - R20 000,00 per month
