Job Description
Summary: AlphaSense is a leading AI-driven market intelligence company that provides insights to help professionals make informed decisions. They are seeking a Tax Associate to join their expanding tax team, where the role involves managing corporate income tax accounting and compliance, contributing to transfer pricing processes, and collaborating with various departments to enhance tax reporting accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare quarterly and annual global tax provision and financial statement disclosures in accordance with ASC 740
- Support the accurate and timely completion of U.S. federal, state, and foreign income tax compliance, prepared by external tax advisors
- Perform and document associated SOX controls for tax accounting and reporting
- Contribute to the success of AlphaSense's transfer pricing process, including preparation of intercompany transactions
- Actively participating in projects that have a tax impact throughout their lifecycle from planning, research, modeling, including communication of tax implications to executive management
- Assist with special projects such as R&D Tax credit studies, mergers and acquisitions, other ad hoc projects
- Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, and other business partners to gain a deep understanding of business operations and ensure accurate reflection of operational activities in tax reporting
- Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and internal control enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy of provision and compliance workflows
- Continuously build technical knowledge by researching tax laws, accounting standards, and emerging issues, applying learning to day-to-day provision and compliance responsibilities
Required Qualifications:
- Selfless, hardworking, and detail-oriented team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's Degree in Taxation and/or CPA preferred
- 1 to 3 years of corporate tax experience in public accounting firms (Big 4 preferred) and/or industry
- Technical knowledge of ASC 740 income tax accounting, U.S. income tax matters, and corporate and partnership income tax compliance for multinational companies
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated history of process improvement and automation
- Demonstrated curiosity, willingness to ask 'why,' and desire to learn
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Taxation and/or CPA
- Experience with NetSuite
