Job Description
Summary: Allan Myers Inc. is seeking a Vintage Automobile Mechanics Intern to provide hands-on learning in the inspection, maintenance, and restoration of antique and classic automobiles. The intern will support shop operations while receiving supervised training in vintage automotive systems.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with cleaning, organizing tools, vehicles, and work areas to maintain a safe and efficient shop
- Support inspections, preventative maintenance, and basic repairs under direct supervision
- Assist mechanics with component removal, installation, and parts handling
- Inventory and organize parts and materials
- Document work activities, observations, and learning progress
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper PPE and hazard awareness
- Participate in structured training rotations and mentorship sessions
- Perform other duties as assigned to support learning and operations
Required Qualifications:
- High school graduate currently pursuing a BS degree in Mechanical Engineer
- Interest in antique/classic automobiles or mechanical trades
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a shop environment
- Strong attendance, reliability, and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods
- Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
- 0-2 years of experience in automotive or mechanical environments preferred
