Journeyman Millwright at All Weather at Home in Edmonton, Alberta, CA

Journeyman Millwright (Maintenance Technician) | 14415 128 Ave| Afternoon Shift Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM | Maintenance Team | Full-Time

Hello. It’s nice to meet you.

If you’re looking for a challenge, you’ve come to the right place, because no matter who you are or where you come from, we’re all building something. Every single one of us. Whether it’s a home, a career, a family or a future, we’re all searching for growth. This is our story too. For more than 45 years, we’ve built the All Weather Group into the largest privately owned and operated window, door and glass manufacturer in the country. But in some ways, we’re just getting started. So, if you’re driven to make an impact and bring your best to our tight-knit, people-first culture, we want to hear from you.

Keep the Line Running. Build Your Skills. Work with People Who Have Your Back.

We’re looking for a Journeyman Millwright to join our Maintenance team at our Glass manufacturing location. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced production plant where you’ll be the person who keeps equipment, utilities, and building systems running safely and reliably.

You’ll work alongside an experienced crew, troubleshoot on the floor, and see the results of your work every shift. No two days are the same, you’ll keep learning on the job, and you’ll have a team behind you the whole way.

What Your Day Looks Like

On the floor

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems
• Complete preventative maintenance, prioritizing work orders and documenting the details
• Support equipment repairs and modifications
• Work with Production Supervisors to schedule equipment work so downtime stays low
• Complete a safety evaluation before starting any task

Making the equipment better

• Take part in root cause analysis of downtime events and chronic issues, then help put fixes in place
• Support our preventative and predictive maintenance programs
• Work with our Autonomous Maintenance specialist to develop SOPs, One Point Lessons, and training materials, with a focus on our Vertical TPS line
• Share your ideas on how to improve equipment performance
• Join project teams working on production equipment

Owning your work

• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Raise issues and suggest solutions, and escalate to leadership when a decision is needed
• Build a full understanding of the equipment across every production line
• Keep your work area and the parts warehouse clean and organized, and help with inventory counts

Are you built for this?

We hire as much for attitude as we do for experience, because who you are is just as important as what you can do. Here’s who and what we’re looking for.

• Journeyman millwright diploma and/or certification
• Courses in maintenance troubleshooting and repair
• Mechanical know-how to repair and replace motors, gearboxes, and bearings
• Pneumatics skills: manifolds, valve packs, cylinders, and airline repairs
• Hydraulics skills: manifolds, valve packs, cylinders, and hose repairs
• Strong problem-solving skills when things move fast
• The ability to adapt to changing priorities and new technology
• A self-motivated, proactive approach to maintenance; Manufacturing experience is a big asset
• Experience with low and high voltage, PLCs, drives, and controls also an asset
• As this is a safety sensitive role, must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test

Why You’ll Like It Here

• A schedule you can count on: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, no rotating shifts

• Home every night: all work is local, with no out-of-town travel, no camp or hotel stays.

• Steady, year-round work with a stable local employer, not project-to-project

• Overtime when it counts: most overtime for preventative maintenance work is scheduled ahead of time so you can plan around it. Occasionally, emergency callouts may be needed to get critical equipment back up and running.

• A supportive, experienced team that has your back

• Learn on the job: a mix of reactive repairs, planned maintenance, and improvement projects

• Structured pay grid group benefits, RRSP matching. Starting rate of $43.53 and $2 shift premium

• All necessary tools supplied by All Weather

• We utilize a modern Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

Our story

It all began in 1978 in Edmonton, Alberta when a farmer, a salesman and a railroader created All Weather Windows. More than 45-years later, we’ve grown into a group of companies still proudly serving residential and commercial customers across Western Canada. We make premium products right here on home soil, designed and tested for Canada's harshest weather conditions, delivered with the promise of performance and style. Our purpose to Never Stop Building is a testament to the character of our people, because we’re always striving and always looking for fellow “builders”, just like you. We have people who’ve been with us for generations and we’re an open door to newcomers, first timers and everyone in-between. We’re continuously working to build and promote an inclusive environment that attracts, celebrates and promotes diversity, equity and inclusion by every definition. Where everyone can bring their best and full selves to work, because what makes you different makes all the difference to us.

The ability to make an impact.

The All Weather Group is a place where potential finds opportunity, leadership truly listens and the ability to make an impact has nothing to do with your title. We know none of us are better, smarter or stronger than all of us. So, we invite people at all levels of the organization to speak up, chip in and put ideas into action to help shape our work, careers and company.

A culture of connection and care.

People are the beating heart of our tight-knit community, so their growth is an important way we live up to our purpose, to never stop building. We view wellness as being about the whole person and have designed our programs to support physical, emotional, spiritual and social wellbeing at work and in our lives outside of All Weather.

We make a difference.

We’re honoured to have been recognized as one of Canada's Best Managed Companies 14 years in a row. But, we also know that we’re far from perfect. We’re committed to positively impacting careers, lives and communities across Canada and proudly give back in four key areas; strengthening families, providing shelter, supporting education and, health and wellness. Over the years this has included charitable giving, partnerships, employee volunteerism and supporting families in need, but one thing never changes – we show up for the moments that matter. If you’re passionate about creating a positive impact too, we need your voice to help grow this proud cultural tradition, because our work here is never done.
