Job Description
Summary: Alkermes is seeking a highly motivated Summer Intern to join the Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology group within the Research Organization during Summer 2026. This hands-on internship is designed for students interested in gaining practical experience in in vitro pharmacology and small-molecule drug discovery, particularly in CNS therapeutic areas.
Responsibilities:
- Support biochemical and cellular assay development, execution, data analysis
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a B.S. or M.S. or PhD program in biochemistry, cell biology, pharmacology, biomedical sciences, or a related discipline
- Coursework or hands‑on laboratory experience in biochemistry, cell biology, pharmacology, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques (e.g., pipetting, solution preparation)
- Interest in drug discovery and pharmacology, particularly in vitro assay systems
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new experimental techniques
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Exposure to plate‑based assays (e.g., luminescence, fluorescence, HTRF, or similar technologies)
- Introductory experience with cell culture or biochemical assays
- Familiarity with basic data analysis tools (e.g., GraphPad Prism or equivalent)
- Previous academic or industry research experience (internships, lab rotations, or thesis work)
