DevOps Engineer - Apprentice Location: Bangalore, India Key Responsibilities Infrastructure & Operations Support Monitor production and non‑production environments to ensure availability, performance, and reliability Provide L2/L3 support for cloud infrastructure, applications, and DevOps tools Troubleshoot system, network, and application issues across environments Perform routine maintenance, patching, and upgrades CI/CD & Automation Support Support CI/CD pipelines (build, test, deploy) and resolve pipeline failures Assist development teams with deployment issues and release activities Maintain and improve automation using scripts and configuration tools Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates Incident & Problem Management Respond to production alerts and incidents as part of on‑call rotation Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures Document incidents, resolutions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) Security & Compliance Assist with security scans, vulnerability remediation, and access controls Collaboration & Documentation Collaborate with Dev, QA, Security, and Cloud teams Maintain clear documentation for infrastructure, deployments, and runbooks Eligibility & Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology - Technical Awareness (Good to Have) Understanding of Linux/Unix systems Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP) Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) Basic knowledge of containers (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes) Scripting skills in Shell, Bash, or Python Understanding of networking basics (DNS, TCP/IP, load balancers) ATTENTION: Current Alcon Employee/Contingent Worker If you are currently an active employee/contingent worker at Alcon, please click the appropriate link below to apply on the Internal Career site.
