Job Description
Summary: Alcami Corporation is a company focused on delivering reliable solutions for transformative medicines. The Calibration Intern will work closely with a mentor to learn calibration skills, assist with data entry, perform calibration on instruments, and help maintain laboratory standards in a pharmaceutical environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the calibration of various instruments in accordance with departmental Work Instructions
- Collaborate with peer mentor to understand and apply calibration techniques
- Help with troubleshooting and identifying calibration issues
- Report questionable calibration results to peer mentor/supervisor
- Enter data into the Metrology Database
- Abide by ISO 17025 principles
- Maintain good housekeeping practice
- Perform routine checks on laboratory standards and update control charts as needed
- Operate under GxP guidelines
- The intern will complete all onboarding activities and provide feedback for process improvements
- The intern will be trained on proper techniques and documentation in a GMP environment. Techniques will depend on the group and area
- Interns will be trained on safety and quality expectations, and are expected to maintain safety and quality standards, and report safety observations according to company policy
- Upon completion of the internship, incumbents will conduct individual presentations to Alcami leaders
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a 2-year college pursuing an associate's degree in a field related to the internship
- Pursuing a degree in Biology, Biotech, Chemistry, Computer Programming, Electronics, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
- Familiarity with measurement units
- Understand basic mathematics
- Good verbal and written communication and documentation skills required
- Strong detail orientation and organizational skills required
- Good problem-solving and basic trouble-shooting ability required
- Willingness to collaborate with other team members
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Follows all safety policies and leads by example a safety-first culture
- Produces high quality work products with a focus on first time right
- Complies with the company code of conduct, policies, and regulatory standards
