Summary: Alarm.com is the leading platform for intelligently connected properties, and they are seeking a software engineering-focused summer intern for their DevOps team. The intern will assist in designing and developing platform tooling and automation for infrastructure management across various cloud environments. Responsibilities: - Designing and developing solutions to automate the provisioning and management of infrastructure across VMware, AWS, and Azure - Building, managing, and maintaining Kubernetes clusters, including underlying infrastructure and in‑cluster apps/services, with a focus on reliability, automation, and repeatability - Participating in continuous improvement activities to enhance platform tooling, CI/CD workflows, and operational reliability - Assisting with platform observability and automation efforts, including metrics, dashboards, alerts, or supporting tooling - Assisting in the management and configuration of servers and services using tools like Ansible and Puppet - Writing high-quality, structured code to support DevOps tasks and automation efforts Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science or a similar engineering program with strong academic performance preferred. Other fields of study may be considered depending on experience - Prefer a candidate who is a rising senior with a graduation date of May 2027 or December 2026 - Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills - Proficient in one or more programming languages like C#, Java, Go, Python, and PowerShell - Exposure to Cloud Platforms like VMware, AWS, and Azure - Some exposure to configuration management tools like Puppet, Chef, and Ansible - Experience with Windows or Linux environments, including RedHat, Ubuntu, CentOS, and Windows Server Required Skills: C#, Java, Go, Python, PowerShell, VMware, AWS, Azure, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Windows, Linux, RedHat, Ubuntu, CentOS, Windows Server Benefits: Collaborate with outstanding people: We hire only the best.
