Job Description
Summary: Airgas is a leading U.S. supplier of industrial, medical and specialty gases, as well as related products. The Onsite Engineering Intern will assist Engineering and Reliability with the development of a new technical training program, which involves creating training packages and analyzing fleet issues to contribute to the efficient operation of the Floxal fleet assets.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Engineering and Reliability with the development of a new technical training program
- Develop training packages that can be rolled out to the operating regions
- Use of Google Slides, and video and audio editing software will be needed
- Consultation with SMEs and Reliability Specialists will be needed to confirm technical details
- Visits to operating sites may be necessary in order to confirm training details, and possibly to capture video or audio clips
- Assist Engineering and Reliability teams analyzing fleet issues as the need arises
- Contribute to the safe, reliable and efficient operation of Floxal fleet assets through the analysis of the available data in order to create reports and studies against established Maintenance Key Performance Indicators
- Manage and interpret vast amounts of data for improved asset oversight (PM Compliance, Re-Test, Capital Expenditures, and Asset Databases)
- Assist with the improvement initiative program for the Floxal National spare part program
Required Qualifications:
- Currently working towards an undergraduate (Mechanical, or Chemical) engineering degree
- Strong verbal communication, organization, scheduling skills
- Ability to act with professionalism, customer focus, and confidentiality
- Ability to learn and utilize Google applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail)
- Able to save and maintain electronic files
- Ability to learn and use additional 3rd party software programs
- Ability to write routine business reports and business correspondence in English
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Associates and/or customers
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals using the English language
- Strong Mathematical abilities including ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and to compute rate, ratio, and percentages
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior internship experience preferred but not required
