Job Description
Summary: Air Methods is a company focused on production and engineering, seeking a Technical Writer to support Certification, Engineering, and other departments. The role involves preparing and revising documents in accordance with division procedures and work instructions.
Responsibilities:
- Support Certification, Engineering, and other United Rotorcraft Departments by preparing new documents and/or revising existing documents in accordance with division procedures, training materials, and work instructions
- Prepare (or assist in preparation of) and proofreads documents, such as Rotorcraft Flight Manual Supplements, Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, certification plans, test plans, structural substantiation reports, and other support documents
- Revise existing documentation to meet new or additional requirements, including reports and FAA documents such as Master Drawing Lists, Master Document Indices, etc. and FAA Forms 8110-3
- Assist Documentation Control as required
- Other Duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- 1-3 years previous experience with aircraft systems (especially helicopters)
- Demonstrates critical thinking and reasoning skills
- Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, ability to prioritize and multi-task and meet deadlines
- Good technical writing skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical/engineering school; or one to three years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- General understanding of FAA certification process and requirements preferred
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings preferred
- Previous experience with MS Project or other schedule software preferred
- Previous experience with CAD software (AutoCAD and SolidWorks preferred) is a plus
