Job Description
Summary: Aimbridge Hospitality is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team at the Residence Inn Portland Downtown Riverplace. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the hotel's systems, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff while performing a variety of technical and preventive maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Take charge of daily inspections, repairs, and fine-tuning across our hotel’s plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and other systems—catching small issues before they become big ones
- Perform preventive maintenance in guest rooms, common spaces, and on essential equipment (from refrigerators to ice machines), keeping everything running smoothly for an exceptional guest experience
- Handle minor carpentry, painting, and furniture repairs to ensure our hotel remains both beautiful and fully operational
- Jump into action to solve equipment hiccups, leaks, and those mysterious electrical issues—no problem too puzzling!
- Tackle emergencies like fire alarms and power outages with cool confidence, always putting guest safety front and center
- Move objects over 50 lbs., scale ladders, and power through physically demanding tasks with strength and stamina
- Follow OSHA safety guidelines when wielding tools, handling chemicals, and operating machinery—safety first, always!
- Keep work areas spotless and safe, with proper storage for tools and hazardous materials to protect everyone
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Valid driver's license required, with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in hotel maintenance or a related field preferred
- Trade license (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry) is highly desirable
