Job Description
Summary: The Allen Institute is a Seattle-based non-profit AI research institute focused on building breakthrough AI to solve significant global challenges. They are seeking passionate early-career researchers for a Research Internship in Robotics, where interns will support the development of foundational models and skills for robotics and contribute to open datasets and experiments in real-world settings.
Responsibilities:
- Reading the scientific literature to investigate and understand AI research
- Executing AI research under guidance of the mentor, which may include building AI systems or system components, developing datasets, and/or conducting experiments
- Meeting with the mentor to discuss research progress and ideas
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science or similar field with research experience in computer vision, robotics, machine learning, natural language processing, language and vision, or related areas
- Have an interest in cutting-edge artificial intelligence research
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
- The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
- Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
- The ability to observe details at close range
- Can work under deadlines
