About the role
The Customer Communications and Marketing team are looking for a Customer Communications Specialist to join the team for a 12-month contract. This role plays a key part in supporting AGL’s Retail Transformation Program by designing and delivering customer communications that are clear, compliant, customer-focused and aligned to both business and transformation objectives.
The role focuses on simplifying complex, regulatory driven content into communications that customers can easily understand, while helping uplift and modernise the way AGL delivers customer communications. Working close with business, design and technology teams, this role supports the shift to structured, reusable, and data-driven communications. You will help deliver scalable communication solutions that improve customer experience, drive operational efficiency, and support AGL’s future-state communication strategy within the broader Retail Transformation Program.
What you’ll be doing:
Develop and maintain customer communications across email, SMS, print, and digital channels to meet agreed targets and customer experience.
Translate complex business and regulatory requirements into clear, concise customer-friendly content.
Apply plain language and content design principles to improve comprehension and reduce customer effort.
Work closely with UX and development teams to ensure communications are designed and built effectively.
Contribute to structured and reusable content approaches, including modular content and briefing artefacts.
Ensure all communications meet legal, regulatory, accessibility, and brand requirements and guidelines.
Support review, testing, and approval processes across delivery.
Ensure communications embed AGL tone of voice and are aligned with our purpose and CVP to engage customers and demonstrate warmth, empathy, and helpfulness.
What you’ll bring:
Experience working with regulated communications (e.g. financial services, utilities, government)
Experience across multi-channel communications (email, print, SMS, digital)
Familiarity with structured and template-based communications
Exposure to CCM platforms such as Quadient Inspire (desirable)
Understanding of accessibility and inclusive communication practices
Ability to work in flexible, cross-functional teams with a focus on commercial outcomes.
Understanding of communications development, campaign management & implementation, and production processes.
Evaluate and approve recommendations on communications strategies, creative and production approaches provided by the agency and external suppliers.
