The Role
Agilent is looking for a highly talented, experienced Product Development Excellence Director to leverage their product development knowledge at the enterprise level to serve as the point expert across Agilent. This role is responsible for driving functional engineering excellence via process and tool standardization, as well as execution oversight. This leader will actively establish a center of excellence and will serve as the primary Product Lifecycle (PLC) Management hub.
This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of product development across the enterprise, enabling world-class engineering capabilities and innovation velocity. You will play a pivotal role in building a unified, modern, high-performance R&D ecosystem that accelerates innovation and product development while scaling the company’s technological advantage.
Beyond technical leadership, you will play a critical role in mentoring and developing engineers across the organization to function as an effective, collaborative unit. Acting as the primary PLC champion for the team, you will remove barriers, help accelerate decisions, and foster a culture of empowerment across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Product Lifecycle Optimization
Accelerate the Product Lifecycle (PLC) across the organization by driving a single enterprise-wide best-practices with standardized frameworks and governance.
Lead training, coaching, and change management to ensure adoption across all business groups.
Use KPIs and analytics to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.
Digital Tool Chain Management
Manage and modernize the end-to-end digital development tool chain and ensure enterprise
Evaluate, deploy, and integrate common tools that enhance productivity and process efficiency.
Provide training and best-practice guidance to ensure consistent, effective tool usage
Shared Capability Development
Establish an engineering development program to foster innovation and talent acquisition to facilitate business unit product development success and next generation of Agilent innovators.
Drive engineering initiatives to optimize development costs, architectural design deployment, accelerate time-to-market and effective transfer into manufacturing.
Optimize processes for supply chain stability and continued post-market production.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor of Science in engineering discipline. Master's degree or PhD preferred.
Experience
At least 10 years of growing responsibility in R&D technical engineering roles or a PhD in a relevant engineering discipline with 5 years of industry experience, with extensive, successful experience in product development
Minimum of 5 years experience formally or informally leading people, projects and/or programs
Demonstrated track record of leadership and delivering results
Experience working with globally distributed teams
Experience building organizational capability through coaching, training, governance, and continuous improvement.
Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration, influencing senior leaders, and driving alignment across diverse business groups.

Additional Details

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $175,440.00 - $328,950.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
